Acne can be a difficult skin condition to treat. If you, or your son or daughter are suffering from acne, you’ll be familiar with the angry raised pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, and oily skin that can go along with it. While acne is often most prominent on the face and jawline, it can be a problem in other places too, such as the back and shoulders.
Treatment for acne with a medical practitioner is often essential to ensuring that your skin is clearer and under control. A range of treatments combined may lead to the best effects for dealing with this tricky condition.
Dr Holman offers a medical consultation to develop the best treatment plan for each individual’s skin, utilising:
AGNES radio frequency
AGNES is a new treatment available to clients that has outstanding results in dealing with acne. AGNES conducts a radio frequency current, down through micro needles, under the skin surface, developed specifically to target the sebaceous glands, and destroy the gland itself. This halts ongoing acne, as without the problematic sebaceous gland there is no acne. The treatment involves minimal downtime and results are noticeable within weeks of the first treatment*. Repeat treatments are performed if and when needed and most people achieve their end result in around 3 sessions.
Antibiotics
Certain antibiotics can be used to keep your acne under control. Depending on your situation, you may benefit from oral or topical antibiotics. This will help to clear up ongoing bacterial infections that are contributing to your acne, in addition to having an anti-inflammatory action on your skin.
Chemical peels
Because one of the most extenuating factors of acne is blocked pores, chemical peels can be a solution to ensuring that your skin does not remain clogged. These peels can help to exfoliate the top layers of your skin by use of chemicals, which are more effective than home exfoliation. Regular peels can help keep acne at bay*.
